Security Forces Eliminate 10 Terrorists in Katsina and Zamfara

In recent clearance operations led by Major General Godwin Mutkut, the General Officer Commanding 8 Division Nigerian Army, the troops of Operation Haderin Daji (OPHD) successfully neutralized 10 terrorists in Katsina and Zamfara states.

According to Captain Ibrahim Yahaya, the spokesperson for OPHD, the offensive operation took place on January 3, 2024, in identified terrorist enclaves in Batsari and Safana Local Government Areas of Katsina State. The troops eliminated 10 terrorists, while others escaped with gunshot wounds. Significant recoveries were made, including an AK-47 rifle, ammunition, 7 Dane guns, 3 locally fabricated guns, communication gadgets, mobile phones, and military uniforms. Additionally, 4 motorcycles that were recovered were destroyed.

In a separate operation in Zamfara State on the same day, OPHD conducted a search and rescue mission in Dansadau and Dandalla villages in Maru Local Government Area. As a result, 9 kidnapped victims, including 5 women and 4 babies, were rescued. The terrorists abandoned the victims and fled after encountering the resilient troops. The rescued individuals were promptly reunited with their families in Magami.

Major General Godwin Mutkut, the Commander of Operation Haderin Daji, commended the troops for their efforts and encouraged them to maintain the momentum in their operations.
