Troops Eliminate Zamfara Terrorist Leader and Rescue 20 Kidnap Victims

In separate operations conducted in Zamfara State, troops from Operation Hadarin Daji have successfully neutralized a notorious terrorist leader known as Sainaje from Katsina State and rescued 20 kidnap victims.

Captain Yahaya Ibrahim, the Information Officer of Operation Hadarin Daji, released a statement on Tuesday detailing the successful mission carried out by the Nigerian Army.

According to the statement, the troops rescued 20 kidnap victims unharmed and eliminated two terrorists, including the notorious terrorist leader Sainaje from Katsina State. This operation resulted in the rescue of 18 kidnap victims, consisting of four males, 14 females, and children.

The operations took place on January 29, 2024, targeting terrorists’ hideouts in Rukudawa, Dumburum, Tsanu, Birnin Tsaba, Magare, and Shamushalle in the Zurmi and Birnin Magaji Local Government Areas of Zamfara State.

During the operation, all discovered terrorists’ enclaves, including that of the notorious terrorist kingpin Sule, were destroyed as the terrorists fled their camps during intense engagement with the determined troops.

In a separate incident, troops successfully rescued two victims who had been abducted by the terrorists along the Shinkafi-Isa Road in Zamfara State. The captors abandoned their victims during a gun battle with the highly motivated troops, leading to their successful rescue.

All rescued victims have been handed over to the appropriate authorities to facilitate their reunion with their families.
