Tthe Joint Task Force Northwest Operation Hadarin Daji (OPHD), 12 terrorists were neutralised, while others managed to escape with gunshot wounds in Zamfara State. Lt. Suleiman Omale, the information officer of OPHD, released a statement on Saturday providing details of the operation.

The troops, stationed at Dansadau Forward Operating Base, displayed exceptional courage as they engaged the terrorists in a fierce gun battle in the areas of Babban Doka, Gobirawar Challi, and Kabaro under Maru Local Government Area. The clash resulted in the neutralisation of 12 terrorists, with several others fleeing with injuries sustained from gunshot wounds.

During a subsequent mop-up patrol, the gallant troops recovered a significant amount of weapons and assets from the scene. These included 1 AK-47 rifle, 1 magazine, 2 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, 1 locally made gun, 1 Dane gun, and 18 cows. Additionally, 10 motorcycles belonging to the terrorists were seized and destroyed on-site.

Brigadier General S. Ahmed, the Commander of 1 Brigade and Sector 1 OPHD, commended the troops for their resilience, determination, and bravery displayed during the operation. He urged them to maintain the momentum and continue their efforts until normalcy is fully restored in the region.
