In a successful clearance operation conducted in Zamfara State, troops of Joint Task Force, Operation Haderin Daji, Northwest (OPHD) neutralized two terrorists and rescued five individuals who had been kidnapped, including a child.
According to a statement released by Captain Yahaya Ibrahim, the spokesperson of Operation Hadarin Daji, the coordinated clearance operation took place on November 16 and 17 in several communities within Anka Local Government Area. The targeted areas included Tugan Gama, Tugan Hausawa, Tugan Nabaru, Yarsabia, and Daji Yanayin Kari.
During the operation, the troops encountered armed terrorists, resulting in the neutralization of two of them, while others managed to escape with gunshot wounds. Additionally, in response to a distress call regarding an armed bandit attack on Yarkoria community in Wuya District, the troops swiftly intervened and forced the terrorists to abandon their kidnapped victims and flee.
The statement further noted that five individuals, consisting of two females, three males, and a child, were successfully rescued and reunited with their families, thanks to the superior firepower and timely response of the troops.
