The Zamfara State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has praised the Zamfara State Government for its significant initiative in establishing the Community Protection Guards (CPG).

Commandant Sani Mustapha, who attended the passing out parade of the first batch of trained CPG members known as ASKARAWA, expressed the Corps’ commitment to providing maximum support and collaboration to the State Government’s commendable innovation in combating banditry and other forms of insecurity in the state.

Mustapha stated that the Commandant General, Dr. Abubakar Ahmed Audi, has fully endorsed the establishment of the CPG, as evidenced by his representation through the Kano State Commandant, Commandant Lawal Muhammad Falala. He emphasized that the NSCDC is always ready to ensure the success of the innovative approach taken by the Zamfara State Government.

The NSCDC boss in Zamfara State called on the trained guards to demonstrate dedication and maintain a strong sense of responsibility as they carry out their duties. He also mentioned that the Zamfara State Command of the NSCDC actively participated in the training of the guards, with approximately 2,740 guards trained in the first batch.

During the passing out parade, the Commandant General, Dr. Abubakar Ahmed Audi, was represented by Commandant Muhammad Lawal Falala, the State Commandant of the Kano State Command. The event featured paramilitary activities and the unveiling of Hilux Vans and motorcycles donated by the Zamfara State Government to facilitate the smooth operation of the CPG.
