Makarfi, former Governor of Kaduna, appointed as head of Kogi PDP governorship primary panel.

The Peoples Democratic Party’s National Working Committee (NWC) has given the green light to former Kaduna State Governor Ahmed Makarfi and six others to serve on a 7-member Kogi State Governorship Primary Electoral Committee. The announcement was made in a statement issued by the party’s National Organising Secretary, Hon. Umar Bature, in Abuja yesterday.

The committee’s task is to oversee the primary election of the party’s candidate for the forthcoming 2023 gubernatorial election in Kogi State.

The primary election will take place in Lokoja, the state capital, on Sunday, April 16, 2023.

The other members of the committee include Erelu Toyin Olumilua Mark, Ikechukwu Nwosu (Sam Ben), Deolu Harrisson, Usman Danjuma Ibrahim, Chief Anthony Onwuka, and Barrister Lauretta Ogwuche, who will serve as Secretary.

The committee has been reminded to abide by the PDP Constitution, the Electoral Guidelines for Party Primary Elections, and the 2022 Electoral Act. The party leadership has expressed confidence in the committee’s ability to perform its duties with integrity and in compliance with established procedures.
