Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, exuded confidence on Sunday, stating that his political faction would emerge victorious against any opposition in the 2027 elections.

During a thanksgiving service organized by Senator Barinada Mpigi in Koroma, Tai Local Government Area of the state, the former Governor of Rivers State, who has been engaged in a dispute with his successor, Siminalayi Fubara, expressed his views.

Wike, the FCT Minister, claimed that the leadership of both the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers State is united as they prepare for the upcoming general elections.

He remarked, “Considering the strength we possess, I am unaware of anyone who can challenge us. It feels like 2027 is just around the corner. Personally, I can’t wait.”

He continued, “The leadership of both parties, APC and PDP, is present here. Where else can you find such unity of leadership? Which state? Only in Rivers can you find this unity.”

Wike acknowledged that this unity is disliked by many who attempt to sow division when they witness people working together harmoniously. However, he emphasized that his camp remains resolute and refuses to be divided.

It is worth noting that Rivers State recently experienced a political crisis sparked by allegations that Wike was imposing decisions on the current administration.
