Late on Thursday night, kidnappers infiltrated the Nigeria Post Army estate in Abuja, resulting in the abduction of two individuals.

The incident occurred in the Phase 2 area of the estate, specifically targeting the wife and one of the in-laws of Barrister Cyril Adikwu.

The Post Army Estate, situated approximately 25 kilometers away from the city center in Kurudu, is predominantly occupied by retired high-ranking military personnel.

Austine John, a neighbor of the victims, recounted that the kidnappers forcefully entered the barrister’s residence, firing gunshots during their intrusion. While the barrister managed to escape, his wife and in-law were taken away by the assailants.

The sudden outbreak of gunshots at around 10:00 p.m. prompted residents to take precautions, ensuring the security of their own homes. The estate management was promptly alerted and swiftly responded to the situation. Shortly thereafter, armed forces personnel arrived at the scene and engaged in a confrontation, though the kidnappers had already fled with their captives before their arrival.

The harrowing incident has left residents traumatized, fearing a potential return of the kidnappers. Efforts to combat this barbaric act by kidnappers are being called upon, with a plea directed towards President Tinubu and the need for decisive action to bring an end to such atrocities.
