FRSC Cautions Motorists on Over-Speeding on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway

The Ogun Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has emphasized the importance of motorists obeying speed limits to reduce accidents on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway during the festive season.

Mr. Anthony Uga, the Ogun Sector Commander of FRSC, gave this advice during an interview with journalists in Ota, Ogun State.

Uga’s statement comes in response to two separate accidents that occurred on Monday and Tuesday, resulting in the loss of two lives each on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway. He attributed the cause of these accidents to over-speeding.

The FRSC has consistently communicated and educated motorists about the significance of driving within the specified speed limits. Uga emphasized that drivers should not take advantage of the road’s good condition to exceed the speed limits. He also noted that some motorists have been using mechanically deficient vehicles during the Yuletide season.

While FRSC operatives are present to guide motorists, Uga observed that some individuals are still not heeding the advice given. He advised motorists to install speed devices in their vehicles as a measure to prevent road accidents.
