FRSC Advises Motorists on Safety Measures During the Yuletide Season

The Delta State Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has emphasized the importance of safety for motorists during the yuletide season, urging them to be cautious and considerate towards other road users to prevent accidents.

Mr. Bassey Eshiet, the Sector Commander, made this appeal while speaking with NAN in Asaba on Friday. He called upon motorists, pedestrians, and all individuals to recognize that road safety practices are the responsibility of everyone.

Eshiet emphasized the need for drivers to prioritize their own safety by maintaining a safe distance from the vehicle ahead, ensuring good tire conditions, and discarding worn-out tires. He also advised individuals embarking on long journeys to plan ahead, assess their fitness for travel, and refrain from driving if they are emotionally disturbed or unfit.

During the yuletide season, the FRSC will deploy a significant number of officers and personnel to major roads and highways in the area to enforce road traffic rules and regulations. Eshiet assured commuters that measures would be taken to ensure a peaceful and enjoyable travel experience, including the deployment of tow trucks to swiftly remove obstructions from the road and the availability of functional ambulances in the event of any accidents.

As part of the FRSC’s efforts, approximately seven patrol vehicles will be deployed in Asaba alone during this season to enhance road safety and security.
