Two Individuals Abducted in Oyo Community

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has officially confirmed the kidnapping of two individuals in the early hours of Saturday in Otu town, Oyo State.

Unknown gunmen were responsible for the abduction. Samuel Opabiyi, the Public Relations Officer of NSCDC in the state, provided this confirmation during a telephone interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Ibadan.

Opabiyi stated that while the NSCDC acknowledged the incident, the investigation has been handed over to the police since it falls under their jurisdiction.

Otu is situated in the Itesiwaju Local Government Area of Oyo State. According to reports, the victims are identified as Dayo Olayanju and a woman known as Mrs. Obasola. The husband of Mrs. Obasola, named Kehinde, reportedly managed to escape with gunshot wounds.

A community leader in the local government area, who chose to remain anonymous, revealed that the kidnappings occurred in different locations. One victim was abducted on Okeho road. The whereabouts of the victims remain unknown at the time of reporting.

Efforts to obtain a response from the Police Public Relations Officer of the Police Command in the state, Adewale Osifeso, were unsuccessful as calls to his phone went unanswered.
