Peter Obi, the former presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the previous election, has extended his condolences to the afrobeats sensation Wizkid following the passing of his mother.

The news was reported by Vistanaij Media, stating that Mrs. Jane Dolapo Balogun passed away on Friday.

In a tweet posted via his X handle on Saturday, Obi offered words of comfort to the Grammy-winning artist. He expressed his prayers that God would bestow upon Wizkid the strength to endure this “irreplaceable loss.”

He tweeted on Saturday, “On behalf of the OBIdient family, I sincerely commiserate with Mr Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, (Wizkid), who reportedly lost his beloved mother. The death of a loved one is a very painful experience, more so a beloved mother.

“Dear Wizkid, may God Almighty who called her home grant her eternal rest in His kingdom and grant you and your family the fortitude to bear her irreplaceable loss. God bless you always. – PO”
