Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State has reportedly passed away in Lagos at the age of 67.

According to reports, he had been under the care of State House doctors until his demise, as he was unable to be flown abroad for treatment.

“Akeredolu is dead; he passed away in Lagos,” a reliable source informed Vistanaij Media.

Last week, efforts were made to send dialysis machines to his undisclosed location in Lagos.

Governor Akeredolu had previously returned to Nigeria in September after a three-month medical leave in Germany.

More recently, he took another medical leave after being instructed by President Bola Tinubu to hand over power to his deputy, Lucky Aiyedatiwa.
