Kogi Institutions Urged by Governor Bello not to Reject NYSC Members Assigned to Them

Governor Alhaji Yahaya Bello of Kogi State has called on institutions in the state to refrain from rejecting National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members who are assigned to them for their primary assignments.The governor delivered this advice during the closing ceremony of the 2023 Batch ‘C’ Stream 1 Orientation Course at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp in Asaya. Represented by Mrs. Baje Janet, the Permanent Secretary of the Kogi State Ministry of Youth and Sports Development, Governor Bello appealed to employers of corps members to warmly receive and treat them as staff members in order to enable them to perform their duties effectively.

Governor Bello highlighted the state’s tradition of rewarding outstanding performance at the end of the service year and encouraged the corps members to utilize the skills acquired during the orientation course to strive for excellence and reap rewards after their service year.

He also emphasized the importance of security consciousness, urging the corps members to avoid late nights and refrain from engaging in local politics within their host communities. Governor Bello emphasized that security is a shared responsibility between the government and citizens.

Governor Bello expressed his appreciation to the management of the NYSC scheme in Kogi State and other collaborating agencies for their efforts in ensuring the success of the orientation exercise. He wished the corps members success in their future endeavors.

Pastor Williams Adebimpe, the Kogi State Coordinator of the NYSC, also addressed the corps members, reminding them to adhere to the rules and regulations of the camp and fulfill their responsibilities in their respective duty posts. She extended gratitude to Governor Bello and the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development for their support in organizing the successful event.
