High Security Measures Implemented Ahead of Eid al-Fitr Celebrations in Kogi

The Commissioner of Police in Kogi State, Bethrand Onuoha, has issued a directive to all Divisional Police Officers, as well as their Supervisory Area Commanders, Tactical and Operational Commanders, to enhance security within their respective areas before, during, and after the Eid-al-Fitr celebrations.

In a statement released by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP William Over Aya, in Lokoja, it was mentioned that comprehensive security measures have been put in place. These include the deployment of patrol teams along major highways and undercover operations in black spots, flashpoints, and other vulnerable areas known for criminal activities.

The primary objective of these measures is to ensure a smooth and incident-free celebration, with prompt response to any reported breaches of the law by the officers on duty.

The statement emphasized the unwavering commitment of the Command to collaborate with other security agencies and key stakeholders in order to guarantee the safety of lives and property. Crucial to this effort is the collection and sharing of credible information from the public.

As the Eid-al-Fitr celebrations commence, Commissioner Onuoha conveyed his felicitations to the Muslim community and extended congratulations for the successful completion of fasting during the holy month of Ramadan.
