A fire outbreak in a Falomo, Ikoyi Police Barracks apartment has claimed the life of 15-year-old Emmanuel David.

David who is the son of Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Godspower David attached to Bar Beach Division of the Lagos Police Command.

Although the cause of the fire is yet to be determined, it was discovered that the teenager was asleep when the fire broke out and he was unable to escape.

Emergency responders were promptly mobilized to the scene and were able to extinguish the fire.

However, Emmanuel’s lifeless body was discovered during debris evacuation and has since been evacuated to a public morgue for autopsy.

The Lagos State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the incident and stated that investigation into the matter is ongoing.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Owohunwa Idowu and his deputy, DCP Isa Grema, also visited the family to offer their condolences.
