Tinubu Applauds Onakoya’s Extraordinary Achievement in Chess

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has conveyed his heartfelt congratulations to Tunde Onakoya for setting a remarkable world chess record, thus showcasing Nigeria’s brilliance on the global stage.

Vistanaij Media recalls that Onakoya shattered the Guinness World Record for the longest chess marathon on Saturday, engaging in continuous play for over 58 hours and emerging victorious in every match.

In a statement issued by presidential spokesman Ajuri Ngelale, President Tinubu applauded the Nigerian Chess Champion and the founder of Chess in Slums Africa for his exceptional accomplishment, which underscores Nigeria’s resilience and self-belief in the eyes of the world.

The president commended Onakoya for his philanthropic motivation behind this endeavor, which aims to raise funds for African children to learn and discover opportunities through chess.

President Tinubu highlighted the familiar pattern exhibited by Onakoya, reflecting the audacity of Nigeria’s youth population to effect positive change, defy the notion of impossibility, and drive innovation and solutions to the nation’s challenges, even from disadvantaged backgrounds.
