Bayero Farah’s Appointment as NITT Boss Renewed by Tinubu

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has given his approval for the reappointment of Dr. Bayero Farah as the Director-General/Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Institute of Transport Technology (NITT) in Zaria.

This marks Farah’s second term, extending his tenure for another four years.

The announcement was made in a statement by Mr. John Kolawale, the institute’s spokesperson, and disseminated to the press in Zaria. The reappointment took effect from January 13, 2024.

The decision to renew Farah’s appointment was communicated through a letter signed by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Sen. George Akume. The reappointment aligns with the provisions of the Nigerian Institute of Transport Technology Act, 1986 Laws of the Federation of Nigeria.

Kolawale highlighted Farah’s outstanding track record and exceptional performance, which have contributed to the significant and unparalleled transformation of NITT since its establishment in 1986.

Farah joined NITT in 1994 as a Senior Staff Development Officer, previously having experience as a classroom teacher and a National Population Census Cartographic Officer. He steadily climbed the ranks, reaching the position of Director in 2013, and ultimately assuming the role of substantive DG/CEO on January 13, 2020.
