The recent ruling by the Kano State Tribunal, which nullified the election of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), hasn’t shaken his resolve.

Governor Yusuf expressed his determination to carry on with the good work initiated for the benefit of the people of Kano State, considering the judgement as a momentary obstacle.

In response to the tribunal’s decision, he voiced his belief that the ruling contained errors and misapplications of the law. He remains confident that the verdict will not stand upon appeal, including the Supreme Court. He emphasized the legitimacy of his election, stating that the people of Kano showed overwhelming support for him at the polls.

Governor Yusuf urged his supporters and the entire population of Kano to remain law-abiding and patient in the face of this development. He made it clear that the judgement doesn’t signify an immediate departure from government, and his administration will continue its work. He reassured that this judgement is merely a temporary setback, and he is confident that justice will prevail at the highest court in the land.
