Governor Yusuf Expresses Disappointment Over Quality of Ramadan Feeding

Abba Kabir Yusuf, the Governor of Kano State, has expressed his disappointment regarding the ongoing Ramadan Feeding program in the Kano metropolis, accusing the handlers of diverting food meant for distribution.

In a statement released by his spokesperson, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, on Friday, the governor conveyed his disappointment during an unplanned visit to one of the feeding centers located in Gidan Maza, Municipal Local Government Area.

During his inspection, Governor Yusuf expressed his dissatisfaction with the conduct of the program handlers, accusing them of depriving the intended beneficiaries of the program.

He emphasized the importance of transparency and accountability, stating, “We will not tolerate dishonesty and mismanagement of public resources.”

The governor’s spontaneous visit was prompted by intelligence reports indicating irregularities in the management of the feeding program at various centers throughout the metropolis.

Governor Yusuf’s proactive approach demonstrates the government’s dedication to ensuring the efficient implementation of social welfare programs during the sacred month of Ramadan.

According to Vistanaij Media, the Kano State government has allocated a budget of N6 billion for the 2024 Ramadan feeding program, which will cover all 44 local government areas of the state.
