Security Forces Eliminate Bandit and Seize Weapons in Kaduna

The 1 Division of the Nigerian Army has reported that its troops successfully eliminated a bandit and recovered a cache of weapons and ammunition in Sabon Birni, Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

According to Lt-Col Musa Yahaya, the Acting Deputy Director of Public Relations for the Division, the incident occurred on December 17 when the troops conducted an ambush operation against the bandits in the area.

During the operation, the troops confiscated one AK-47 rifle with a magazine loaded with 15 rounds of 7.62mm (special) ammunition, a Baofeng radio, and two Tecno phones.

In a separate operation on December 15 along the Dende-Buruku Road in Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State, the troops conducted another successful sting operation against bandits. While some of the bandits managed to escape with gunshot wounds, the troops recovered one AK-47 rifle and one AK-47 rifle magazine loaded with four rounds of 7.62mm (special) ammunition.

Maj-Gen Valentine Okoro, the General Officer Commanding the Division and Force Commander of Operation WHIRL PUNCH, commended the troops for their resilience and urged them to continue denying bandits, terrorists, and all criminal elements the freedom to carry out their nefarious activities.
