1 Division Troops Recover Weapons and Motorcycles from Bandits in Kaduna

The 1 Division of the Nigerian Army has announced the recovery of firearms and motorcycles from bandits in Kaduna.

Lt-Col Musa Yahaya, the acting Deputy Director of the division’s Army Public Relations, confirmed this development in a statement issued in Kaduna.

Yahaya explained that the troops, in collaboration with the Kaduna Vigilance Service, laid an ambush on the bandits based on credible intelligence regarding their movement in the general area of Dogon Dawa-Damari, within Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State. The operation aimed to clear the bandits from the forests in the region.

During the encounter, the troops demonstrated superior firepower, causing the bandits to flee in disarray. Following the operation, the troops conducted a thorough search of the area and recovered one Beretta pistol, one AK-47 rifle, and one AK-47 rifle magazine.

Additionally, in a separate incident, troops deployed at Kwanar Mutua in Birnin Gwari Local Government Area received intelligence regarding the presence of bandits. The troops swiftly moved to the area and engaged the criminals with overwhelming firepower. As a result, the bandits fled in disarray and sought refuge in nearby high ground.

The efforts of the troops in recovering firearms and disrupting the activities of the bandits demonstrate their commitment to maintaining security and combating criminal elements in Kaduna.
