Nollywood actress Rita Edochie has issued a response to her nephew Yul Edochie, who accused her of being a clout chaser. Yul Edochie recently expressed his frustration with the hypocrisy of Nollywood celebrities and Nigerians in general.

He highlighted how many individuals have been using the late singer Mohbad’s name for clout while treating him poorly. Yul mentioned his own experiences of bullying without being given a chance to share his side of the story.

He also criticized Rita Edochie for not reaching out to him personally regarding his affair with Judy Austin but openly discussing their marital issues.

In her reply, Rita expressed gratitude that Yul still considers her his aunt, but emphasized that he is not the main focus of her attention. She explained that she doesn’t engage with him because he has changed. Rita supported claims that Yul is being controlled and influenced by Judy Austin, vowing to continue advocating for his release from this situation.

“This particular line made tears drip from my eyes, especially the word “My Own”.

(Even my won Aunty has not called me on the phone for one day to ask me what happened).

Good thing you still regard me as your own Aunty. But I will not say anything about this for now. Also saying that I am using your name and matter as a traffic medium on my page, how hilarious can this be?? But I will not say anything because I am happy you know me too well.

My dear son, you are not the subject matter and that is the reason I don’t talk about you because I know you are not yourself anymore. But you will surely get back to who you used to be whether drama devil (Judy Austin) likes it or not. There are no doubts. You are being caged/bottled by your so-called wife whom you picked, not knowing when and how you did.

The subject matter is the so-called wife we woke up one morning to hear you picked, as until she releases you, she will still remain my subject matter.
