Plateau Police refute claims of Labour Party supporter’s suicide

The Plateau State Police have refuted claims that a 19-year-old Labour Party supporter committed suicide following the announcement of Presidential election results by INEC.

According to a statement released by the command’s spokesperson, DSP Alfred Alabo, the report is false, baseless, and likely to incite political unrest, discord, and violence in the state.

The report did not provide any substantial evidence of the alleged incident, including the location of the purported suicide.

The police have contacted all their Divisional Headquarters in the state but found no record of such an occurrence. The police advise the public to disregard the report and assure them that the state is peaceful and secure for all residents. The police are working to track down the author of the misleading post.
