Reno Omokri, a prominent figure within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has offered praise to President Bola Tinubu for his role in swiftly resolving the visa ban issue that had been placed on Nigerian travelers.

As reported by Vistanaij Media this positive development came after a meeting between Tinubu and the President of the United Arab Emirates, Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, on Monday, during which they reached an agreement to address the visa crisis.

A statement from Ajuri Ngelale, the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the President, underscored the significance of this historic agreement. It was revealed that both Etihad Airlines and Emirates Airlines will promptly resume their flight schedules to and from Nigeria, with no further delays. This decision marks a substantial step forward in the relationship between Nigeria and the United Arab Emirates, facilitated by the diplomatic efforts of President Tinubu.

Reacting, Reno, a former presidential spokesperson, commended the president, saying “if President Tinubu does well, we will praise him, and if he derails, we will torment him”. 

Reno, in a post shared on his Facebook page, called upon President Tinubu to extend his efforts towards resolving the visa restrictions that have been imposed on Nigerians by the Ethiopian and Seychelles authorities as well. 

He wrote, “It is very commendable that President Tinubu has been able to get the visa ban the UAE placed on Nigeria’s passport lifted. This is the type of leadership that Waziri Atiku Abubakar would also have brought to Nigeria and which has been missing for the last eight years. 

“Now that he has accomplished this, I urge the President to send his foreign minister to Ethiopia and Seychelles to secure the lifting of their own visa bans on the Nigerian passport.

“Once again, I commend the President and also salute the astute trade deals he was able to strike for Nigeria in both India and the UAE. Trade means jobs. And Nigerians need jobs. So much kudos is due to the president.”
