Renowned sociopolitical activist Reno Omokri has provided a comprehensive list of 16 actions that Nigerians can take to ensure that the value of the naira remains below N1,300 against the dollar throughout April.

Omokri emphasizes the importance of supporting Nigerian-made businesses, as it contributes to the strengthening of the naira in relation to the dollar. He specifically mentions the positive impact that the functioning of the Port Harcourt and Dangote refineries will have on the naira’s value.

In a recent post, Omokri expresses his satisfaction with the current exchange rate, stating, “Today is April 5, 2024, and the naira remains firm at N1,245 to $1. Throughout this month, the naira has stayed below N1,300 to a dollar. You and I, by engaging in #GrowNairaBuyNaija, have proven wrong those who predicted an unfavorable exchange rate of N2,000 to $1. If you are among those who bet against the naira by purchasing and hoarding dollars, I advise you to convert your dollars to naira before the Dangote Refinery and the Port Harcourt Refinery flood Nigeria with affordable petroleum products.”

Omokri’s recommendations for maintaining a strong naira are as follows:

1. Utilize Glo for phone calls
2. Opt for Innoson or Nord vehicles
3. Choose Dangote and BUA for construction projects
4. Consume Nasco products for breakfast
5. Have meals consisting of locally grown rice for lunch and dinner
6. Prepare jollof rice using Erisco tomato paste
7. Enjoy dates at Tantalisers and Suya spots
8. Drink Zobo (a local beverage)
9. Celebrate with palm wine
10. Select Air Peace for flights instead of Air France, KLM, or Lufthansa
11. Shop at local markets
12. Opt for cassava bread over imported wheat bread
13. Support Enyimba and Kano Pillars football clubs
14. Watch Nollywood movies at Silverbird cinemas
15. Stream Nigerian music
16. Embrace traditional attire such as aso oke, agbada, babanriga, or isi agu
