Popular Nollywood actor, Chinedu Ikedieze, widely recognized as Aki, recently broke his silence on the emotional torment he endured due to his stunted growth.

In an intimate discussion with renowned media host, Chude Jideonwo, Ikedieze revisited the adversities he faced as a young boy after a medical diagnosis changed his life.

He said, “Something happened when I was nine years and six months old. I remember the doctor saying to my mum; ‘Madam, what he has is stunted growth.’”

Ikedieze disclosed that the weight of these words, along with ridicule from his peers, drove him to the brink of contemplating suicide.

Now 45, the celebrated actor expressed profound gratitude for his mother’s unwavering support during those trying periods. “Thank God I no grow for Lagos because Third Mainland Bridge no far o,” he humorously added, underlining the severity of what he felt during those years.
