The Labor Party Presidential Campaign Council (LPPCC) has accused the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) of a deliberate and planned campaign to discredit and delegitimize Mr. Peter Obi, the party’s presidential candidate.

 The APC is allegedly mounting pressure on Mr. Obi to abandon his right to seek redress in court after the February 25, 2023 presidential election, which was deemed by both local and international observers to be lacking credibility and fairness.

LPPCC stated that Mr. Obi has no plans to leave the country, despite the mounting pressure. The council also condemned the circulation of a fake audio call, which they claim was doctored to imply that Mr. Obi incited insurrection in the country.

The LPPCC appealed to religious leaders not to be part of the grand design of the state apparatus to further increase religious and ethnic divisions in the country.

The council called on President Buhari to rein in his officials and prevent unnecessary crises in the country.

The Labor Party Presidential Campaign Council (LP-PCC) accused the All Progressives Congress (APC) of engaging in a campaign of calumny to discredit and delegitimize the LP’s presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi. The LP-PCC warns the APC to stop this campaign against Obi and that it is part of a grand design to discredit and delegitimize Obi to compel him to abandon his right to seek redress in court.

The LP-PCC stated that Obi has no intention to leave the country at this time, irrespective of the pressure on him and his family. The LP-PCC appeals to Nigerians and the international community to caution the APC and the APC-led government to stop their attacks on Mr. Obi.
