Kwara court orders medical doctor to be held in custody for murder

Former Chief Medical Director of Kaiama General Hospital Remanded for Alleged Murder of Multiple Victims in Kwara State Court

Dr. Abas Adio Adeyemi, a medical doctor, has been remanded by an Ilorin Magistrate Court for the alleged murder of several individuals. The court, presided over by Magistrate Muhammed Ibrahim, remanded Dr. Abas in custody at the Oke-Kura Custodial Centre until March 24, 2023, following the submission of the prosecutor, Nasir Yusuf.

A police investigation alleges that Dr. Abas killed Nasifat Halidu, a worker at the Kaiama General Hospital, and concealed her body in a waste bin in his store, pouring concrete cement on her to cover up the act. He also allegedly killed Olanipekun Ifeoluwa Ibukun and dumped her body in the bush at Alapa, Asa Local Government Area of Kwara State. The suspect reportedly confessed to having sedated Abubakar, a Fulani boy, before handing him over to his syndicate, and the victim has yet to be found.

Dr. Abas also confessed to being instrumental in the death of a young lady, whom he buried in a shallow grave in his office at the hospital, which he covered with tiles to avoid suspicion. It was also revealed during discreet investigations by the police that Dr. Abas and his accomplice killed Abdulazeez Saliu after luring him and borrowing the sum of N15m from him. The police commissioner, Paul Odama, stated that Dr. Abas also harvested organs from some of his victims.

The police are currently closing in on other members of the syndicate involved in the crime.
