Arrest Made in Ilorin for Suspected Billboard Vandalism

Several individuals suspected of stealing and vandalizing billboards have been apprehended in Ilorin, the capital of Kwara State.

Imam Ismail Asukuti, the Acting Director-General of the Kwara State Signage and Advertisement Agency (KWASSA), confirmed the arrests on Friday.

Asukuti issued a stern warning against the theft and vandalism of signboards, billboards, and other signage properties belonging to both the government and private individuals. He called on the general public to refrain from engaging in such acts that tarnish the image of the signage industry in the state. Asukuti emphasized that advertisement practitioners would be reluctant to invest in a state where billboards are stolen and removed by individuals involved in criminal activities.

He stated, “The agency will not tolerate or overlook the actions of miscreants in society who steal people’s properties in the state.” Asukuti further cautioned that anyone caught engaging in billboard theft or vandalism would face appropriate legal consequences as prescribed by the law.
