The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has issued a warning to candidates participating in the 2024 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME) to be cautious and avoid sharing their personal information with fraudsters.

During a press interaction at the JAMB Professional Centre in Bwari, the Board Registrar, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, emphasized the significance of the ongoing examination and the efforts made to combat fraudulent activities.

“We have made significant progress in our engineering endeavors over the past seven years, and today we have achieved success for the first time. Fraudsters who engage in illicit activities are aware that they are in trouble due to the measures we have implemented,” stated Prof. Oloyede.

The registrar expressed gratitude to the public, especially parents, for their cooperative behavior, noting that parents had previously posed challenges during the examination process.

Prof. Oloyede reassured candidates who encountered technical issues during their exams to remain calm as arrangements would be made to reschedule their examinations.

He also highlighted that, thus far, the exams had been progressing smoothly, with only one center reporting minor issues. However, he anticipated that approximately 10% of the centers nationwide might encounter challenges due to varying levels of development across different areas of the country.

The JAMB Registrar appealed to the public for understanding and urged candidates to exercise patience as the examination process continues.
