During an interview with Premium Times, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, the Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), revealed that Nigerians would be shocked if the board decided to disclose the full details of the “forgery” committed by Mmesoma Ejikeme.

The board had accused Ejikeme, a candidate from Anambra State, of manually inflating her UTME score.

According to Oloyede, the result presented by Ejikeme was actually the template for a student who had taken the UTME exam two years ago. He explained that by scanning the code, the candidate’s actual result would be displayed. Therefore, Oloyede concluded that the girl was in possession of a fake result. He suggested that she might have been either deceived by someone or involved in a syndicate that manufactures counterfeit JAMB results.

The Registrar’s remarks hinted at the existence of a larger issue surrounding the fraudulent manipulation of UTME scores. While not providing specific details, Oloyede strongly implied that there may be more cases of forgery and fraud related to JAMB results.

The decision not to disclose all the information suggests that further investigations and actions may be underway to address the issue and apprehend those involved in such fraudulent activities. 

“There are security features on our results, so I can emphasise that the girl is just trying to deceive the public. Her result is completely fake. Her claim that she printed the result from our site is a lie, and totally incorrect. If we should reveal all that we know, people will be shocked. So if people are looking for shortcuts to achieve an end, that is what would happen.” 

JAMB clarified that the issue in question is unrelated to its system, affirming that there was no hacking of its system and that the result in question did not originate from its system.

“The result she is holding is completely fake because we are able to track everything printed from our system”, it said. 

After being accused of forging her 2021 UTME result by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) on Sunday evening, Mmesoma has vehemently denied the allegations.

However, JAMB remains steadfast in its assertion that she indeed forged the result and, as a consequence, has imposed a three-year ban on her.
