Governor Caleb Mutfwang has announced a further relaxation of the curfew imposed in Mangu Local Government Area (LGA) of Plateau state due to the improved security situation in the area.

The curfew will now be in effect from 8 pm to 7 am, according to a statement issued by Mr. Gyang Bere, the Director of Press and Public Affairs, on behalf of the governor.

Governor Mutfwang explained that the adjustment in the curfew timing was made after careful consideration and consultation with the State Security Council. The aim is to allow residents to resume their agricultural and economic activities and contribute to the overall development of the state.

The governor encouraged community leaders, regardless of their faith or ethnicity, to continue engaging in strategic efforts to build trust, foster tolerance, and promote better understanding among the people.

While urging the residents of Mangu LGA to strictly adhere to the curfew by staying indoors between 8 pm and 7 am, Governor Mutfwang emphasized the importance of not taking the law into their own hands. He also called on security personnel to fulfill their constitutional responsibility of effectively enforcing the curfew to maintain law and order.

The decision to relax the curfew reflects the government’s assessment of the improved security situation in Mangu LGA and the desire to restore normalcy while ensuring the safety of residents.
