On Sunday afternoon, a fire broke out at the private residence of Dr. Mariya Mahmoud, the Minister of State in the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA). The property, located at No. 9, Justice Roseline Ukeji Close in the upscale Asokoro area of Abuja, was tragically consumed by the flames.

Despite the efforts of fire service personnel who swiftly responded to the emergency, the fire could not be contained, resulting in the complete destruction of the residence.

Mr. Austin Elemue, the Minister’s Special Adviser on Media, confirmed the incident and stated that the cause of the fire is currently unknown. Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the underlying factors that led to this devastating incident.
