FCT Minister Vows to Deny Kidnappers Bail, Promises Punishment

Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has made a firm commitment to prevent kidnappers from being granted bail.

During a security town hall meeting at the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) on Friday, Wike stated that he would ensure that captured kidnappers face appropriate punishment in accordance with the law.

Expressing his stance, Wike declared, “Gone were the days when kidnappers would be granted bail. I will not allow it again. We will ensure that the kidnapper is punished. How will a kidnapper be granted bail?”

Recently, kidnappers have been instilling fear among residents of the FCT, with people being abducted from their homes.

In the midst of this, the police have reported that their personnel from the anti-kidnapping unit and the Rubochi Division Police Headquarters successfully rescued 14 abducted victims.

A statement by SP Josephine Adeh, the command’s spokesperson, confirmed that the operation took place on Wednesday.

According to Adeh, this successful operation is part of the ongoing fight against kidnapping in the nation’s capital city.
