Ebonyi State Government Presents N204 Billion Budget Estimate for 2024

Governor Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi State has announced that the 2024 state budget will reflect the essential needs of the people in the state.

According to Vistanaij Media, he state government has proposed a total sum of N204 billion for the 2024 budget.

Governor Nwifuru made this statement during the Community-Based Input on the Proposed 2024 Budget event held in Abakaliki.

He identified education, infrastructure, healthcare, and human capital development as his top priorities for the upcoming year.

In terms of human capital development, the governor revealed plans to engage citizens in skill acquisition programs, particularly those who have been involved in hawking across different parts of the country.

Governor Nwifuru also emphasized the importance of providing quality education to the people of Ebonyi State. He mentioned initiatives such as offering scholarships to 300 graduates for their master’s programs and revitalizing primary and secondary schools.

The State Commissioner for Finance, Leonard Uguru, provided an analysis of the budget, stating that N132.8 billion has been allocated for capital expenditure, while N71.3 billion has been allocated for recurrent expenditure.

Uguru expressed optimism that the state government is committed to boosting the economy and promoting good governance for the people of Ebonyi State in 2024.

Representatives from various organizations, including the Trade Union Congress of Nigeria (TUC), the Nigeria Bar Association (NBA), the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), and the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC), pledged their support to ensure the success of the government’s plans in 2024.
