Reports indicate that the terrorist group Islamic State of West African Province (ISWAP) has carried out another act of destruction, targeting a 330KVA high tension transmission line along the Maiduguri-Damaturu Highway.

The incident, which occurred in the early hours of December 28, 2023, around 7:00 am, took place between Yanayakiri-Garin Kuturu in the Jakana general area. Zagazola Makama, a counter-insurgency expert and security analyst in Lake Chad, shared the information via a post on X.

This attack follows a previous incident on December 21, where the terrorists vandalized two transmission towers near Katsaita village. As a result, parts of Borno and Yobe experienced a disruption in power supply.
