Airstrikes inflict severe casualties on terrorists in the Northeast

According to a security analyst and counter-insurgency expert, the Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai has launched a series of military airstrikes in the northeast region, resulting in significant losses for the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP)/Boko Haram terrorists.

The analyst, Zagazola Makama, took to Twitter on Wednesday to share this information. He stated that the airstrikes, which took place on July 9 and 10, 2023, targeted known hideouts of the terrorists in Chikun, Gudu, Jibularam, Kwalaram, Arinna Ciki, located in the Marte Local Government Area of Borno State.

After conducting intelligence-led aerial missions, the damage assessment from the scenes confirmed that a considerable number of fighters, including unidentified commanders, had been successfully eliminated during the operation.

In continuation of intensive air raids, similar strikes were also undertaken at Talala in the axis of Sambisa forest after receiving intelligence of terrorists moving on seven motorcycles.

“The strikes were successful as at least six bodies of the eliminated terrorists were sighted after the clearance operations, ” he tweeted.

In addition, Makama received confirmation from a source that fighter jets belonging to the Nigerian Air Force were observed conducting intensive patrols in various locations. These areas include Afa, Kafa, Buk, Talala, Galmasaku, Chiralia, and Ajigin.

The source also revealed that the patrols were extended to Wajiroko, Sabon Gari, Gogore, Doksa Buni Yadi, and Buni Gari. The decision to increase patrols in these regions was made based on intelligence reports indicating the movement of terrorists in seven gun trucks and motorcycles.

It is worth noting that recent operations carried out by the Nigerian Air Force, through aerial bombardments, and ground troops engaged in aggressive clearance operations, have resulted in the significant elimination of numerous unrepentant ISWAP/Boko Haram terrorists within the northeast region.
