Social activist Reno Omokri has faced criticism on social media after he called for the arrest of Peter Obi, the Labour Party presidential candidate, and his running mate Datti Baba-Ahmed if they made treasonable statements.

In a tweet posted on Wednesday, Omokri expressed his belief that the 2023 Nigerian elections were rigged and accused Baba-Ahmed of making near-treasonable comments.

He also stated that if Obi did not condemn his running mate’s statements, he would be guilty by association.

Omokri went on to say that the federal government should arrest Obi and Baba-Ahmed the next time they made treasonous comments.

However, his comments have received backlash, with many social media users supporting Obi and Baba-Ahmed and criticizing Omokri’s stance.
