Buhari reveals reasons behind his departure from Daura to London

Former President Muhammadu Buhari has provided an explanation for his decision to leave Daura, Katsina State, and travel to London.

Buhari revealed that he sought a peaceful environment, prompting his departure from Daura. He expressed that numerous visitors were constantly coming to see him while he resided in his hometown of Daura.

A statement by Buhari’s ex-media aide, Garba Shehu, reads: “He chose to go home in Daura hoping to find the type of quiet he wished for himself, but realizing that this was not the case, visitors trooping in morning, day and night, he moved out to a more distant place.

“It remains his wish that he be allowed to have his needed rest, and for the Tinubu administration to have the right atmosphere to work on the realisation of the promises they made.”

After the conclusion of his tenure as president, Buhari made his way back to his hometown, Daura. Yet, soon thereafter, he departed from Nigeria and traveled to London.

During his time in London, Buhari had the opportunity to meet with President Bola Tinubu.
