President Muhammadu Buhari has returned to Nigeria after a 13-day stay in London, UK. His arrival took place on Tuesday evening at the presidential wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja, where he landed on a gulfstream jet. The purpose of his trip was to attend the coronation of King Charles III, and he was accompanied by several high-ranking officials including the secretary to the government of the federation, the minister of foreign affairs, the minister of information and culture, and the national security adviser.
The coronation ceremony, which occurred on May 6, saw the presence of leaders and dignitaries from around the world. Additionally, President Buhari participated in a summit for Commonwealth countries’ presidents and heads of government on May 5. Originally planned as a five-day trip, the president’s return was delayed by a week at the request of his dentist, as announced by Femi Adesina, the presidential spokesperson.
It is worth noting that President Buhari is expected to hand over power to President-elect Bola Tinubu on May 29.
