President Muhammadu Buhari has returned to Abuja after an eight-day visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, where he performed the Umrah (Lesser Hajj). Buhari departed Saudi Arabia via the King Abdulaziz International Airport Jeddah on Wednesday. At the airport, Saudi government officials, traditional and spiritual leaders from Nigeria, as well as some senior staff of the Nigerian Embassy in the Kingdom, bid farewell to the president.

During his visit, the president successfully performed Umrah rituals amid tight security. He arrived at the Grand Mosque in Makkah from Madinah on Thursday morning, accompanied by members of his entourage, traditional and religious leaders from the six geopolitical zones of Nigeria, and a delegation from the General Presidency for the Affairs of the Grand Mosque.

Before his departure, President Buhari also visited some historic religious places in Madinah on Tuesday and Wednesday. During his trip, he received updates on developments in Nigeria from government officials, including the Governors of Borno and Yobe states.

Now, President Buhari has returned to Abuja after his visit to Saudi Arabia to attend the World Bio Summit.
