AFCON Update: Nwabali Still Suffering from Injury Pain

Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali provided an injury update following Nigeria’s 2-0 victory over Cameroon on Saturday, securing a spot in the quarter-finals against Angola.

Ademola Lookman’s goals sealed the win, with the first coming in the 36th minute after an assist from Victor Osimhen.

Nwabali, who was substituted in the 80th minute due to a collision with Georges-Kevin N’Koudou, expressed that he is still experiencing some pain. In a post-game interview, the Chippa United goalie mentioned, “You know when injury is new, you always feel pains.”

While the extent of Nwabali’s injury is yet to be assessed by the medical staff, Super Eagles manager Jose Peseiro remains hopeful that the goalkeeper will be available for the quarter-final clash against Angola at the Felix Houphouet-Boigny Stadium on Friday.
