Cote d’Ivoire striker, Sebastien Haller, has pointed out that the Super Eagles will encounter a transformed Elephants team in Sunday’s showdown.

The final of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) is set to take place at the Alassanne Quattara Stadium in Ebimpe, Abidjan, where Nigeria secured a 1-0 victory over the hosts earlier in the tournament, thanks to a goal by centre-back William Troost-Ekong from the penalty spot.

However, Haller remains optimistic about their chances of overcoming the Super Eagles this time.

“It’s an advantage to both Nigeria and Côte d’Ivoire because we faced each other in the group stage so we know each other well,” the striker expressed during a press conference on Saturday. “However, the approach to a knock-out game will be different from a group stage game.”

In essence, Haller suggests that while both teams are familiar with each other’s playing styles, the high-stakes nature of a final alters the dynamics of the encounter.
