Nollywood actor and comedian Charles Okocha expressed his sorrow on Instagram over the passing of veteran actor John Okafor, better known as Mr. Ibu. Okocha shared in his Instagram stories the poignant words, ‘This one pain me,’ in response to the news of Mr. Ibu’s demise.

The cause of Mr. Ibu’s death was disclosed by AGN president Emeka Rollas, who stated that it was due to cardiac arrest that Mr. Ibu breathed his last.

It’s understandable that Charles Okocha is deeply affected by Mr. Ibu’s passing, given their shared profession in comedy. It’s plausible that Mr. Ibu served as a mentor to Okocha, having paved the way in comic roles. Mr. Ibu, renowned as a legend in the industry, excelled in comedy throughout his career.

The loss of Mr. Ibu is significant for Nollywood, as he was a prominent figure with a vast repertoire of over fifty successful films dating back to the late nineties. His comedic talent and knack for delivering witty remarks greatly contributed to the industry.
