A staggering number of 22,000 applicants from the 20 local government areas of Bauchi State are currently undergoing screening at the Police Training School (PTS) in Bauchi, as they strive to secure a position in the police force.

The recruitment process involves various government agencies, including the Police Service Commission (PSC), Federal Character Commission (FCC), Ministry of Police Affairs, Bauchi State Office of the Head of Service, State Civil Service Commission, and Police Training department.

Although the Bauchi Commissioner of Police, Auwal Muhammad, did not disclose the specific number of job openings, it is speculated that the recruitment will result in less than 1,000 individuals being selected.

During a routine visit to monitor the ongoing process at the Police Training School, CP Muhammad emphasized the importance of conducting a transparent and corruption-free recruitment exercise. He expressed gratitude to the Chairman of the Police Service Commission, Solomon Arase, and the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbotekun, for their efforts in addressing the issue of inadequate manpower within the police force.

CP Muhammad warned all participants against engaging in any form of corruption, emphasizing that no bribes would be tolerated during the recruitment process.

The Commissioner assured that the recruitment procedure was progressing smoothly, with applicants conducting themselves in an orderly manner. The nationwide recruitment drive aims to bolster the numerical strength of the Nigerian Police Force throughout the country.
