The funeral plans for Wizkid’s late mother, Mrs Jane Dolapo Balogun, have been announced by the family of the renowned singer, whose real name is Ayodeji Balogun.

According to a report by Vistanaij Media, Mrs Balogun passed away on Friday, August 18th, at approximately 1:30 a.m. The sad news was confirmed by Wizkid’s long-time manager, Sunday Aare.

Preparations for her burial, scheduled to take place two months after her passing, are already underway and expected to be conducted with great pomp and ceremony.

A flyer circulating online displays the funeral arrangements, which include a wake-keeping and tribute night on Thursday, October 12th, 2023, followed by a funeral service on Friday, October 13th, at RCCG City of David in Victoria Island, Lagos.

Mrs Balogun is survived by her husband, Alhaji M.O Balogun, as well as her four children: Yetunde Balogun, Omolara Balogun, Olubusayo Balogun, and Ayodeji Balogun (Wizkid), along with her grandchildren.
