After reaching the mandatory retirement age of 60 years old or completing 35 years of service, ten directors from various departments of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) have formally retired.

During a send-off ceremony held in Abuja on Sunday, INEC National Commissioner, Prof. Mohammed Adams, extended his congratulations to the retiring directors. He encouraged them to view retirement as the beginning of a new journey rather than the end of the road.

Adams emphasized that the retired directors, being professionals in their respective fields, should engage in meaningful work that brings fulfillment and financial reward during their retirement years.

Furthermore, he advised the active-duty personnel not to fear retirement but to embrace it as an opportunity to establish themselves in any future endeavors they pursue.

Adams concluded by expressing the importance of gratitude to God and creating a distinct and valuable role for oneself, regardless of the position one finds themselves in.
