The Defence Headquarters has announced the pursuit of 97 individuals in response to the escalating security crisis across the nation. The wanted list comprises terrorists, bandit leaders, and other insurgents responsible for causing chaos in various regions, particularly in the North.

Among those declared wanted is Simon Ekpa, the factional leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), along with his associates, including a notorious killer known as Gentle. Major General Edward Buba, the Director of Defence Media Operations, confirmed the names of the wanted individuals on Friday.

The list encompasses terrorists from the North East and North West regions, as well as insurgents operating in the South East and North Central. In the North West Zone, individuals like Bello Turji, Alhaji Shingi, Malindi Yakubu, Boka, Dogo Gide, Halilu Sububu, and 33 others have been declared wanted.

Additionally, 21 insurgents and violent criminals from the Southeast and North Central regions are also sought by authorities. This group includes individuals such as Simon Ekpa, Chika Edoziem, Egede, Zuma, ThankGod, Gentle, Flavour, Mathew, David Ndubuisi, High Chief Williams Agbor, Ebuka Nwaka, Friday Ojimka, Obiemesi Chukwudi (aka Dan Chuk), David Ezekwem Chidiebube, and Amobi Chinonso Okafor (aka Temple), among others.
