Shehu Sani, the former Senator of Kaduna Central, has revealed that foreign airlines are making attempts to exclude Air Peace from foreign routes.

Sani emphasized that foreign airlines will continue to reduce their fares until they successfully remove Air Peace from these international routes.

In a post on X, Sani encouraged Nigerians to support local airlines in order to keep their foreign counterparts in check.

He stated, “The reason why foreign airlines are lowering their prices is simply because of Air Peace. They will continue to decrease their fares until they push Air Peace out of those foreign routes, and then they will revert to their high pricing tactics. The more you choose to fly with our local airlines, the more you will hold them accountable.”

In March, Air Peace commenced its flight services from Nigeria to London, with Gatwick Airport as its destination. Allen Onyema, the Chairman of Air Peace, raised concerns that foreign carriers operating on the Nigeria-UK route are allegedly collaborating to force his airline out of international operations by significantly reducing airfares on the same route.

Onyema alleged the existence of an “unspoken alliance” among foreign airlines to utilise lower pricing as a means to eliminate Air Peace from the Nigeria-London route.
